Upon start, HB 1.2.2 shows many encoding presets being incorrect -- how much of a problem is this?

Post by Bit-twiddler »

Description of problem or question:
There are many "corrections" to the various encoding presets that show up in the Activity Log (see below).
Is this a problem, and how much of a problem is it?

A secondary problem is that nothing encodes -- it just spits out stuff into the Activity Log and stops, and is ready for the next encode (I will cover this in another, different, post, unless I find someone else mentioning that)

Steps to reproduce the problem
Start up Handbrake (version 1.2.2)

HandBrake version:
Version 1.2.2

Operating system and version:
MacOS 10.12.6 -- "Sierra"
MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), 8 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024MB

Update your built in presets.

No, everything is fine. HandBrake automatically converts presets to the newer format, and then updates the built-in presets.

It's only an issue if you see this each time you start it. It would mean presets can't be saved to disk.

They aren't being saved, because this occurred on a subsequent attempt an encode (from HB startup). See "Handbrake is only ripping part of a DVD" by sithways, only in my case, mine was from a ripped (by Ripit 1.6.6) DVD that went to a .dvdmedia file(folder), which MacOS treats as recognized file-type for double-clicking (except that the new DVD Player won't play .dvdmedia files -- Apple, removing functionality does not endear you to your users).

My reply in that post has my activity log for the failed rip in 1.2.2.

Or maybe presets are saved only if you add/remove one. I don't remember :) .
