Problems with burned in subtitles

Post by tonycama »

Hi here,
I am trying to add burned in chinese subtitles to a video, and I have created a .srt video file for this.
I am using the same video in Vimeo, and tested it with VLC and the subtitles are displaying properly there.

But after the Handbrake enconding, I can see the first 4 subtitles display properly at the timing they should,
but then the at the 4th subtitles display, all the text of the subtitles file is shown at once, filling the screen with text, and after that no other subtitle is displayed.

The .srt file is encoded UTf-8, and that is the same encoding I selected in Handbrake.
I have tried to enconde the .srt file in different ways, but this didn't solve the problem.
I thought of some hidden character that could break the interpetation of the file, but as I said, in Vimeo or VLC I don't have this issue.

Did this happen to anybody else? Do you have any suggestion?
Thanks a lot!
