Would like to know if I can make file size a little smaller without losing too much quality

Can I refine the settings to make a smaller file size without noticeable loss of quality?
I see other files that are 1080 and have a file size approx 1.7gb and was hoping I could achieve the same. Am I overlooking a setting in Handbrake to do this?:

Update to the latest version, then increase the RF until you are ok with the size and quality.
