fixing a DVD-R with audio out of sync REDUX

Post by discless »

Description of problem or question:

I have a DVD-R with audio apparently out of sync when I play it in my DVD Player or when I play the resulting Handbrake transcode of it. Can I use Handbrake to resync it during the transcode process? Thank you.

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):

1.1.2

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):

High Sierra 10.13.5

No. Just because the answer isn't what you're looking for, doesn't mean it is anything less than correct, sorry.

Thanks for the log. It indicates that the source audio and video timestamps are the same. If they were not the same, there is a possibility you were seeing a known issue with some players and mp4 files that HandBrake *does* have a fix for. But since this isn't the case, you'll have to find some other software that can edit the timestamps of your video.

One possibility would be to re-encode your file with HandBrake to mkv format, then use the command line tool mkvmerge to adjust sync of tracks. See '--sync' in the mkvmerge command line reference.
