One particular disc failes to decrypt

Post by Hitchc0ck2020 »

Description of problem or question:
Having some trouble decrypting and watching my personal dvd collection with handbrake. The audio is always very very low, but that's not a serious issue at this point. I have run into a snag while trying to decrypt the NTSC Torn Curtain dvd, from 2006. Each attempt gets as far as 5:24. Attempted with both h.264 and h.264 10bit. The clip itself is a bit longer than usual, being 2:07:43. When converting to mkv the process gets as far as 25:18. I am unable to copy the iso using disk util, as it fails at the very end. I'm now going to be attemping on a windows machine, but in the meantime, any ideas? Thanks and gosh bless you all.

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):
1.1.2

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):

osx high sierra

Decrypting disks is not a function of handbrake.

What happens if you use a real ripping tool, like MakeMKV, to rip the disk? Does it also hit a read error at that point?
