Computer sleeps when running a queue in Handbrake

Post by jeff3820 »

Description of problem or question:
I'm running Handbrake 1.1.0 on a late 2013 8-core Mac Pro. When running a queue of transcoding jobs with Handbrake the Mac will periodically go to sleep. Resuming the Mac from sleep causes Handbrake to resume but it never used to do this...when running Handbrake the computer wouldn't sleep. I have tried clicking the setting box under energy settings to prevent the mac from sleeping when the screen goes blank but periodically Handbrake will still pause/sleep. This is a fairly recent behavior...possibly since 1.1.0 or 1.007

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):
All described above. Attached log is for a item in the queue where I believe the transcoding job went to sleep

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):
1.007 - 1.1.0

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):
Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.4

Re: Computer sleeps when running a queue in Handbrake

Post by ric »

Same issue... if I add 10 items to the queue, hb finishes both passes (subtitle and video encode) for each title and pauses. When I come back to the computer and wake the screen, it resumes the next item in the queue.

I have energy saver set to sleep hard drive: never; sleep screen: 20 minutes. There is no CPU sleep setting on the Mac mini (2012, MacOS 10.13 High Sierra, using external storage on Synology DS1817+).
