First time using HandBrake

Description of problem or question:
Hi guys, first time using HandBrake. I have a video that is 1.2 GB, after selecting the suggested settings from a video on you tube it looks like is going to take 3 hours to do the encoding. Is it my computer ? I have a MacBook Pro now new but should be ok to handle it. Everything else runs fine on this Mac.

If you had provided a log, we could have a chance to answer some of your questions.

Your first mistake is watching anything on YouTube about "how to use handbrake". Start with the presets that come with handbrake, and you will achieve usable results a lot faster than trying to apply questionable tweaks that were intended for a version of handbrake that hasn't been around for 5 years.

Im sorry Im not really familiar with this software. If I knew I needed to provide a log believe me I would have done that. I looks like the default was already unchecked so I just checked it in.
The software still running since last night, almost 12 hours, something is definitely wrong, its impossible to take this long.
I saw the video with an old man describing everything I needed to do. Im not really sure if there is any other source to watch a video for beginners.

Also when Im trying to open the video I get this twice

You're running a 2-core processor at 2.4GHz, so you start with a slow processor, that has limited ability to run tasks in parallel (something the encoder likes to do).

You have chosen to encode in h265, which is not a particularly fast encoder.

You have chosen to use one of the most CPU-intensive presets for that encoder, "veryslow", at a relatively high quality level, RF=20.

You have asked handbrake to de-interlace the source, which probably isn't needed.

So, yes, you are going to have a very long encoding session.

Encoding is a balancing act between 3 main goals - Speed of encode, Quality of encode, and Size of resulting file. You can choose to optimize any two of these. Given your processor, if you do not want to spend a lot of time encoding, you're going to have to decide whether you're giving up Quality or Size. I'd recommend using the Fast or VeryFast presets to shorten the encode times, but it isn't going to be "really fast" on that processor.
