Error: Your destination disk is almost full

Post by macevanscb »

Please detail your question or problem in as much detail as possible:
I am encoding a very large TV series from avi to mp4... just over a thousand encodes.
I have quit and reopened Handbrake numerous times as required by other app needs.
Today, I opened Handbrake this morning and have been encoding for just over 12 hours... around 100 encodes so far.
Encoding stopped on it's own just now after completing a successful encode, displaying the error in the subject.
Trying to restart encoding just displays the error again.
I have had this happen several times over the last week.
The only way to clear this error is to completely clear the queue, quit and restart Handbrake and then laboriously rebuild the queue.
Restarting or power cycling the Mac has no effect on the error.

Tell us about your environment. What version of HandBrake? What version of OSX are you running. etc.
I am running the newest version of Handbrake (1.0.7) on a Mac Mini running OS X El Capitan v10.11.6.
The source disk and the destination disk are both 4TB RAID drives (2x2TB RAID 0) with over 2TB of available space on each drive.

If there was any exception or error displayed, please copy it and paste it here:
Cannot copy/paste from error window. The only choice is to click OK.
Error text:
Your destination disk is almost full.
You need to make more space available on you destination disk.

Please include the scan or encode log:
This is not a scan or encode problem.
No encode log is generated between clicking START and displaying the error.
All current encode logs are error free including the last log before the error occurred.
Do you still want the last encode log????
Please tell me what further info you need.

Wait a minute.... I was only looking at the encode logs.
I found the errors at the end of the activity log.
I'm including the text from the beginning of the last encode to the end of file.

Re: Error: Your destination disk is almost full

Post by BradleyS »

Those aren't actually errors, just HandBrake deciding whether your source is a BD, DVD, etc.

The nightly build allows you to adjust or disable the storage warning.
