I've been a bit confused on this one but the problem started happening in a fairly recent build of Handbrake.
I'm currently on 1.0.7.
I can select the Preferences checkbox for "send file to" (which currently shows "none") but can't seem to set a directory. When I select a folder from the finder there's no option to update the preference.
Is there a way to set this preference with a settings file from the command line?
What about just resetting all of my preferences to try to fix it?
Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply, but there is nothing under output files that seems to let me set a path, there's just options for automatic naming of the file and what extension to use;

It's "send to" an application, not a folder.

That's kind of what I thought but wasn't sure.
So, can someone explain if there's a way to set the output directory so that it is preserved between sessions?
I have a folder set up for my handbrake rips.... for years my rips automatically go into this folder. Recently my rips started showing up in the Desktop folder. I go and change the output path of a rip manually to the handbrake folder I've set up and at the next session Handbrake is ripping to the desktop again.

Use the "Browse…" button in the main window.
