Batch convert MKV files with their subtitles

Post by erics72 »

I know Handbrake can convert MKV files with subtitles to MP4/M4V. You select the MKV file, go to subtitles, and choose the english version, hit Start. Pretty simple. But how would I do this with multiple MKV files with their specific subtitles, without having to keep an eye when one is done, so that I can load the next file and choose the correct subtitle for that file. I can't seem to figure out a way to batch convert multiple MKV files while embedding the subtitles for each file.

You need to edit the defaults for subtitles (there's a button to switch to that screen), and save the changed default to a new preset.

Or, you can learn the command line version (separate download) and a batch file. This is the method I use; makes it simple doing a few dozen disks at a time.
