Converting H.265 6K Photo files in full rez gives black frames

I wanted to use HandBrake to convert LUMIX GH5 6K Photo m4v files, which are H.265, to H.264 or any format readable on a Mac. It works just fine if I use a preset like "fast 1080p30" (which is off course downscaled) but as soon as I adjust the Picture size to match the resolution of the original file (4992 x 3744) the resulting output has just black frames.

HandBrake Version 1.0.7 (2017040900) and macOS 10.12.4 (16E195).

The 1080p presets are made to encode at 1080p resolution or lower. For 4K you need to adjust the H.264 level to 5.1 or higher (or set it to "Auto").

In addition, due to a limit on the number of 16x16 macroblocks on a per-frame basis (36,864 at level 5.2), the maximum resolution of a compliant H.264 bitstream is 4,096 by 2,304 pixels (or, in the case of a 1.33:1 ratio like your files, 3,520 by 2,640 pixels).

Hmm, I wonder if we should find a way to reflect this kind of limitation in the GUI somehow. I'm guessing this kind of thing will become more common as we start seeing more UUHD content.
