Audio bitrate changes on preset

Post by insch »

I have setup a preset for Vimeo encodes. Video side behaves normally but on the audio side I get unusual behaviour. Initially the preset didn't hold the audio setup at all then after I set up 'Audio defaults' it did have audio track info. held but it doesn't hold the bitrate. I set it to 320 but every time I re-select that preset it jumps back to 64.

Any advice? Thanks

You need to save it as a new preset after switching it to 320 Kbps -- there's no auto-save of presets.

Is that within the log? If not, where do I find it.

Thanks.

It's not in the log. You have to "export to file" the preset. In Windows, that's done by RIGHT clicking on the preset, and export is in the content menu. Not sure what does that on the Mac.

I've got it but how do I attach it to my post?

Fastest way for those who would be looking at it would be:

1. Load the file in a text editor, and copy the contents to the clipboard.
2. Start your reply message here, then click on "Full Editor & Preview".
3. Once you have the full editor, you will find a button that has "</>" on it; click it.
4. Paste the text you copied between the "code" tags that will appear.
5. Add any comments you have, then Submit the message.

I have the same issue. I save audio settings any which way—I swear I've tried ALL of them—and the bitrate always jumps back to 64. It used to work normally and intuitively before the last couple of updates. This Audio Defaults / Presets thing is a—excuse my language—effing mess.

I'm using Handbrake 1.0.3 on a 10.12.4 Mac OS.

I am having this same issue. Any resolution to this? Even if saved down, bit rate (And bit rate only) reverts back to 64.

Does it happens if the sample rate is set to auto?
