guide to quality settings?

Post by MOB »

Hello

I'd been happily using the High Profile setting and now the latest version has come along with a plethora of quality setting options. What do they all mean? OK - I see that there's some documentation but I cannot see any difference between High Profile and Super HQ 1080p30 Surround either in terms of quality or file size. High Profile is said to encode at Medium speed and Super HQ Very slow but it looked the same to me.

So my question is: if it's true (?) that High Profile encodes more quickly should I just carry on using that or should I switch to Super HQ 1080p30 Surround to get better quality (presumably on a device I haven't tried this file on yet)?

This is my first posting so apologies if I just display gross ignorance (!).

Sandra

I'm trying Vs 1.0.1 on Mac OS 10.10.5
