512x512 icon for Leopard?

Post by drosje »

Hi, I have searched the forums for this topic to make sure I am not repeating, so hopefully this isn't a dupe. I was wondering if there is a 512x512 icon out there for Handbrake since Leopard has 512x512 as the new standard icon size. Anyone know? Even a Handbrake replacement icon would work. Thanks!

Not sure if this set has the right size or not...

BH, Unfortunately, that I think is a 128x128 icon. I tried it out and it still looks pretty fuzzy in CoverFlow. Thanks for looking out though. Does anyone know if there are others or if the HandBreak dev team plans on updating the icon to 512x512 format?

We are working on upgrading some other things currently for leopard (particularly building from source) but an updated icon is on the drawing board.

And no, we won't be re-designing it (before anyone asks.)

It would also be nice if the 128 x 128 icon was packaged with the WinGUI as well so us Vista users can enjoy it.

I agree. I had to use it at work today and it was an instant turn-off. Blech.

One of these days...I am going to do a 1:1 photo-realistic version of the current HB icon rather than the one used at the moment....which I think Titer did with the marker set his mom got him for christmas! [joke].

Please =)

This is what I've been quietly hoping for all year. The current icon with its pineable and cocktail, but done in a nice, pretty, glossy, photo-realistic way, at a high resolution.

I'd even go for a photoshopped picture of an actual pineapple and cocktail ;>

Mucx, please please please do this. I can't wait to see a great hi-res, re-imagined icon. Thank you!

I will get around to this, just busy with lots of design work at the moment. At work and other outside projects. I sort of understand the love for the current icon but in my opinion it needs and update... but thats my opinion and not gospel or nagging or whatever might warrant abuse my way for criticising the current icon. I understand teh nostalgia factor and the love for it sort of.

I know others have tried a total re-invention of it but I thought something that is still true to the 'spirit' of the project but updating it and conforming to the HIG would be kind of cool.

Sometimes developers just don't understand

I actually LOVE that reinvented icon, but it's not 512x512. Bummer. I can't wait to see what you are able to come up with. And I understand the wait. Please take your time.

Screw 512x512, how 'bout 2560x2560? At least you'll be ready for that 8560P TV you've always wanted.
