Hello, I wonder if anyone can help. I have ripped a 40 minute film from DVD to .AVI, 2 pass encoding. The file creates OK but doesn't play back in Quicktime or into I-Movie, I just get a white screen...I'm running OSX 10.4.8 with QT 7.1.3.

try gettin the Perian codec or Divx or Xvid.
