Only half of my disc gets ripped

Post by jaycoh56 »

I'm on a Mac with Mountain Lion and the latest version of Handbrake. I've never had an issue with ripping DVDs but I'm trying to rip a 16 minute DVD of an acting gig I did and only 8 minutes of it is ripping. Everything appears to be set correctly; it's only showing 2 chapters; one being 22 seconds the other (the one I've selected) is 15 min. +. I've tried it numerous times with the same result. Problem is, the piece I need is at the end of the DVD. Help someone?

Sounds like a "home made" dvd produced with a cheap dvd recorder or authoring software. Try disabling "dvdnav" in HandBrake preferences. This enables an older, dumber dvd parser that sometimes works better with badly authored dvd's.

Presumably you mean this?

Correct. You'll need to restart HandBrake for the change to take effect.
