preset for bluray
I am able to use the raw output of my Haupaugge HDPVR-1212 for 720p/5.1 and use Toast 10 to burn it to BluRay format on a DVD-DL (with no further encoding required) so that I can play it on my Samsung BR player.
I want to take some high definition 720p content with 5.1 sound from another source and convert it to the proper format so that Toast 10 will burn it to BluRay format on a DVD-DL (with no further encoding required). Which presets do I use?
Toast takes much too long to re-encode, so I would prefer to use Handbrake. Thank you.

Re: preset for bluray
Could you provide a short sample (from your PVR) that works for you? Having something to compare against would be helpful.discless wrote:I am able to use the raw output of my Haupaugge HDPVR-1212 for 720p/5.1 and use Toast 10 to burn it to BluRay format on a DVD-DL (with no further encoding required) so that I can play it on my Samsung BR player.

Is there a way to upload a 15MB file on this forum?
Thank you in advance...
Re: preset for bluray
No, you'll have to use an uploading service. I'd like to get at least the M2TS (not just the MP4). Both would be fine.

Re: preset for bluray
NOTE: The m2ts file will work in Toast to BR without any further encoding. The MP4 file triggers further encoding in Toast.
Re: preset for bluray
As I suspected. I'll have to do some testing of my own, but if Toast actually asserts HRD compliance, this will never work in HandBrake (unless John decides to implement a compatible TS muxer). The alternative is to use x264 directly and export a raw H.264 stream.discless wrote:NOTE: The m2ts file will work in Toast to BR without any further encoding. Re: preset for bluray
Will Handbrake export the raw H.264 stream? Or other suggestions, such as FFMPEGX or others on Mac?
Re: preset for bluray
Ah, it was folly to try to move this over to BluRay; as my nickname indicates...
I have given up and used Handbrake to transcode it to my AppleTV2. I used the AppleTV3 setting and it looks terrific and the 5.1 sounds great on my Samsung Surround Sound in a Box...
