Dual mono tracks > stereo
I am trying to convert some home videos that are in MOV format. The audio is in 2 separate channels, not a stereo track (ie: audio track 1 is the left channel, audio track 2 is the right channel). When I go to convert in Handbrake, I can't have both tracks together as a stereo track. Does anyone know if these tracks can be combined into 1 stereo track?
Re: Dual mono tracks > stereo
HandBrake can't do that. Assuming something else can, you'll have to join the tracks before feeding the video to HB.
If you're encoding to MP4, you could encode each track individually (two mono tracks in the output file), then enable both tracks with Subler. QuickTime will play both tracks simultaneously, but VLC (and I suspect, a whole lot of other players) will only play one track at a time, so it's not really a solution.

Re: Dual mono tracks > stereo
Here's what I would do:
1. Use Handbrake to encode the video, ignoring the audio completely.
2. Use Audacity to mux the two mono tracks together into a stereo track.
3. Use mkvmerge/mp4box to mux the stereo track into the output file from Handbrake.
