best settings for MBP, iPhone4, and iPod classic ?

hi, im new here
anyway i just started to use Handbrake to encode my video files
i planned to keep my video files organised in itunes
can anyone reccomend me any setting for the videos ?
i'll encode from DVD, Youtube flvs, etc
and im planned to "preserves" the quality of the video as much as possible as i have quite a large harddrive to fill in.
and im planning to watch the videos on my MacBook Pro, iphone 4, and also on my car stereo through ipod classic.
what is the best setting to compromise theese without losing much of the quality ? i dont mind large file size.

What kind of iPod classic (what year)?

The iPod is going to be the weak link. If you cut that out, you'd get better quality encodes.

hmm the latest ipod classic ?
actually i dont planned to watch it on the ipod it self
i planned to connect it to my car stereo multimedia headunit a Pioneer that connectedto the ipod.
what if i exclude the ipod and play it out of my iphone 4 instead ?
cause my car head unit can recieve both from iphone and ipod thorugh its dock connector.

If you need iPod 6G compatibility -> Universal preset.
If you don't need iPod 6G compatibility (MBP and iPhone 4 only) -> iPhone 4 preset, iPad preset or AppleTV 2 preset.

The iPhone 4 preset is optimized for the iPhone's built-in display (960px max. width); the iPad preset identical to the iPhone 4 preset but optimized for the iPad's built-in display (1024px max. width); the AppleTV preset isn't one of the 3 presets I suggested.

i want to keep my files for beeter compatibility for future devices.
and 1 more thing if i have a 720p video files, what should i use?

Same as iPhone 4 and iPad presets, except with 1280px max. width and an AC3 track.
