subtitles help

Post by kbutler84 »

I used MakeMKV to rip my copy of Pan's Labyrinth and included English subtitles. When I play the MKV file with VLC, I can select the subtitle track and it plays fine. Is there something I have to do in order to make sure this subtitle track stays intact when I encode the MKV file with handbrake?

HandBrake doesn't support Laserdisc subtitles.

It's not a laserdisc, it's a bluray rip.

Given how MakeMKV doesn't support Laserdisc, I'm not surprised.

However, HandBrake doesn't support Blu-Ray subtitles either.
You'll have to use additional software to extract, convert and/or merge the subtitles with the encoded MKV.
