Can I use iMovie Project as Source

Post by donnpr »

HB recognizes the iMovie Project file but when I select it, nothing happens other than returning me back to the main HB window. Other than using Toast to convert to video_TS file, which HB recognizes, is there a way to directly use iMovie as a Source?

iMovie uses QuickTime reference files, which FFmpeg (and therefore HandBrake) doesn't support.

So, is there a way to import dv from cameras directly into HB?

I drag and drop iMovie project to Toast. Then "Save File as Disc Image" from the Toast menu. When completed, from Toast's menu, I mount the disc image. Handbrake will then see the image as a Source and encode. Long process, but it works creating high quality files MUCH smaller than QT Pro or iMovie can export.

...or you can just feed the .dv to HB...
