Hi!

First I want to thank you for making this awesome app. Not often has it failed me, but now I can't open a Toy Story 2 Blu-ray RIP .mkv file (made with MakeMKV). It plays fine with Plex so I think the file should be OK. My system is Snow Leopard on Mac Mini. Here is the activity log:

Probably too many audio streams for ffmpeg to handle.

Code: Select all

matroska,webm @ 0x102106c00] Too many streams
Open mkv in MkvmergeGUI deselect audio tracks you don't need and remux to a new file. Then feed the new file into Handbrake.

That or subtitles. Blu-Rays often tend to have many subtitle streams.

My money is on subtitle streams... discard the unneeded ones until subtitle stream count is less than 16.

Yes on second thoughts subtitles make more sense, especially as the default behaviour of makemkv is to pack all sub tracks into the file unless it's set up not to.

Thank you!

You did put your money on a right target. I reduced the amount of sub-streams and everything went well after that. This, however, lead to another question. How come I can't see any subs in HandBrake Subs-page? Only option I get is "Foreign audio search (bitmap)". What the h*ll is that? Should it be possible to see the actual streams here? Plex shows them just fine so I know they are there in mkv. Any help with this? Thanks.

HandBrake does not support Blu-Ray subtitles.
