Once it crashes, i'm done....

Post by jellegard »

i have been using the nightly builds for the last several weeks. but it seems that once Handbrake crashes i can't get it to start encoding again. i load the queue with 8-10 movies using the iPad preset and sometimes it will start other times it just hangs. when i look at the activity log the error that ALWAYS precedes the crash is the:

dca_syncinfo failed

and it has it like a hundred times in the log. the last stable nightly build that i was able to encode more than 1 or 2 movies without crashing was around 3606. getting the nightly builds lately and looking at the notes it seems there are no changes or very few changes. when this crashing happened before a lot of times getting the new nightly build seemed to clear things out so i could at least encode a few more movies and then Handbrake crashes with the error above. relaunching and clearing the queue and trying to reload the queue fails to get things going in 99% of the cases. the only thing that seems to work is getting a nightly build with a few changes.

what's strange is there doesn't appear to be anything that i can find that causes this. i just ripped GLEE the First Season with MakeMKV. i loaded one computer up with episodes 1-11 and another computer up with episodes 12-22. BOTH computers had Handbrake freeze up after 5 epsiodes and now i cannot get Handbrake to finish the rest of the episodes. it freezes up almost instantly. i used the same settings for MakeMKV and Handbrake (iPad setting with video at 1280) so why would only a few of the episodes encode? Handbrake either gives me the dca-syncinfo error or it starts reading the file and then just freezes up before the dca-syncinfo error. it's really frustrating.

if someone can please give me an idea or two what is going on and if there is any way to "kick start" or clear Handbrake out i would sure appreciate it.
