"Surrogates" which title to encode

Post by Partsguy1 »

I'm trying to figure out which one? The movie is 1:28:34, but there are more than 20 titles that long. I tried titles 12 & 13 and only end up with 56 minutes of the movie.

  1. Open the DVD in DVD Player.app and start the main feature.
  2. Take note of the title number from the Go -> Title menu (it'll be marked with a tick).
  3. Select this title in Handbrake, you may need to use Handbrake's Open (Title Specific) option if a full disc scan hangs or crashes.
  4. ???
  5. Profit!

On your copy of the DVD, perhaps. It's been discovered that the studio will often release 3-4 versions of the DVD in each region/territory, each with a different title number for the real feature. The only thing you can be sure of is that it won't be the longest title, which is what Handbrake selects by default.

It's better to be safe than sorry and check your copy prior to encoding... it only takes a few seconds, after all. :)
