No Valid Source Found

Post by PsychoSid »

Hello,

using the svn 2592 snapshot (tried 32 and 64 bit) I am getting a large amount of Blu-Ray rips with makemkv have this type of thing

Code: Select all

[20:26:36] macgui: trying to open video_ts folder (parent directory chosen)
[20:26:36] hb_scan: path=/Volumes/Media/Rips/Batman Begins.mkv, title_index=0
[20:26:36] scan: trying to open with libdvdread
libdvdread: Encrypted DVD support unavailable.
libdvdnav:DVDOpenFileUDF:UDFFindFile /VIDEO_TS/VIDEO_TS.IFO failed
libdvdnav:DVDOpenFileUDF:UDFFindFile /VIDEO_TS/VIDEO_TS.BUP failed
libdvdread: Can't open file VIDEO_TS.IFO.
GUI ERROR dialog: dvd: ifoOpen failed
[20:26:36] hb_stream_open: open /Volumes/Media/Rips/Batman Begins.mkv failed
[20:26:36] scan: unrecognized file type
[20:26:36] libhb: scan thread found 0 valid title(s)
[20:26:36] macgui: ScanDone state received from fHandle
Although the MKV container files play OK in Plex ?

Anything else I can do to get these onto the ATV ?

Thanks

Well I am actually getting these Blu-Ray rips to process in HB after pushing them through tsmuxer.

Kinda interested to know why this happens for some and not others though if anyone has any ideas

My Guess, The mkv file is probably not formed correctly in some way.

Hi there - can you post the process of using TSMuxer.

I have many BD rips that are not showing in Handbrake too.

What is the output file I need?

Many thanks

Hey Guys,

Tried using the TSMuxer to " Fix " the my broken mkv file and it seems to work !
I just load the mkv into TS Muxer, then create a .ts folder.
Handbrake then sees this full res file and converts like a working mkv file.

All good !!

Still waiting to see if the convert is good, but at least HB sees the file now.

I had the same problem. The MakeMKV forum states that handbrake sometimes has problems with BD rips that have subtitiles in them. I did some new rips with only audio and sound, no subtitiles, and it now worked like a charm.

G'day all
Your encoding program can't read the Video file because they are corrupted during the ripping process, the ripping software itself seem to have reading issue with that participial Movie. I've had similar issue's with trying to encoded DVD's to *.m4v file, changing the ripping software, solve this issue for me always. I find the latest iRip has issue with some DVD's but not with other same with MTR old and new version , sometime none of them work but the windows version of DVDfab or the old DVD Decrypter works fine. Seem to me you are experiencing the same issue with blueray. Sometimes you might find the movie ripped without error from the software until you trying encoding it that is and get that No Valid Source Found error.
