Handbrake stuck at 100%

Post by tabicat »

I'm encoding a DVD that has four episodes in it. The first episode encodes fine. The second one hits 100%, but HandBrake keeps on going, creating a file that just gets bigger and bigger.

I posted a similar experience with SVN2391 in the Bugs forum a week or so ago, converting an HDTV mpeg-2. Not sure if they're related, though, given that yours is a DVD source. and SVN2391 is quite far removed from 0.9.3.

I have an update. The problem only occurs if the DVD in question is ripped with RipIt. If I use MacTheRipper instead, it works fine. I'll report the bug on the RipIt forums, but it would be nice if the HB developers chimed in with some hints.

This bug looks suspiciously like issue #12, which was opened two years ago. Can I get a status update from a developer, please? Any chance this issue will get fixed in 0.9.4?

Um is your console filling up with the mp2 error messages?

I think someone fixed that bug years ago and neglected to close out the ticket.

No, my console is not filling up with messages. Other than that, the problems reporting in the ticket are identical to what I'm seeing (and other people), so perhaps it's the same bug rearing it's ugly head again?

It has nothing to do with this issue. As jbr said, it was fixed a long time ago.

I'm actually having this issue right now. I've used RipIt to rip my "The Office" DVDs and am using handbrake to try to get them into my itunes. not luck, the encodes hand at 100%. Up to this point, I've had no problem encoding videos ripped with RipIt. The version of Rip It i was using was 1.2.9. I have updated to version 1.2.11, and I will report back if that works. The update stuff says it fixes certain muxing problems in handbrake. hopefully.

no luck. this is weird. I'm trying to do seasons 1 and 2 now. They don't work. Though, I did season 4 several days ago and it worked fine. I'll try with mac the ripper and report back again.
