{Source} value for automatic renaming output files is not good

Post by frvill »

Hello,
I have a problem with Handbrake 1.0.7 OSX
I have set Automatically name output file with {Source} value

But when I drop an ISO file, it automatically defines a output file with the {Title} of the DVD, not the source name.
And if I try to use {Title} it just adds a "1" instead of the DVD title

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.3 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update)
OSX 10.12.3

Error message text or screenshot (If Applicable)
No error
No activity log about this part

Thanks

This is the expected behaviour. I'm afraid you'll have to post rename the files in this instance.

Title is the title number of the DVD track (i.e from the title dropdown in the gui)

Hello,

thanks for your answer
what is strange is that with the old version I was using, Source was the name of the .iso
After upgrade (I don't know which version I was using, but an old one), it is not the same.

I have downloaded the Nightly build and it is clearer that Source is the name of the disc and Title is the number of the track, I agree.
But is there a variable for the source name of the .iso ?

Thanks

If you don't want the title number in the file name, don't put title in the file name.

hehe thanks mduell

When I read Title, i think I will see a Title .. not a Title Number ..
When I see Source, I think I will see the Source not the Title .. That was how it worked before ..
It changed..
Now I understand the normal behaviour is that Source is the name of the DVD and Title is still the Title Number. There is no way now to have the name of the .iso .. not a big deal but even if it's not related to video compression, it could be a nice addition to be more precise with the token names.
