I don't know why but when I try to convert a DVD to MP4 it keeps crashing on me and closes out of Handbrake completely. Then it says "Handbrake has quit unexpectedly" or something like that. And when it does work, it says completed but only 15 mins of a 2 hour DVD is only what was converted to MP4 file. Can someone please assist? Thanks in advance.
The full report link doesn't work, se we can't know where it crashes.
Home made dvd are usually quite broken, you can either try to disable libdvdnav in the preferences (make sure to restart HandBrake after that), I don't know if an older version would help.
Well because it crashed, I wasn't able to post the HB Log. This is all it says after I reopened it:
[11:14:23] macgui: Handbrake Version: 1.0.3 (2017022500)
[11:14:23] hb_init: starting libhb thread
[11:14:23] hb_init: starting libhb thread
so it starts recording then sometimes after 5 mins it crashes and sometimes after 15 mins it crashes. I have tried different DVDs as well. None of them are copy protected.
ok so it kind of worked in MakeMKV but it only did 8:40 instead of 9:40. Then if I go to convert that file in handbrake, it just freezes at the point where I am trying to select the folder I want to put it in and stops responding then crashes. All other softwares work fine except for handbrake. Maybe I shouldn't of changed the version with this mac system? Not sure. How can I reinstall an older version to check and see if that was the problem?
lol well, yeah it didn't rip fine…but then why is handbrake freezing on me all the time? Even when I start it up and load the DVD its fine. Then it freezes when I try to select a folder or crashes when converting.
