Pausing DVD rip

I was wondering how easy it would be to implement a feature to be able to pause the DVD ripping so that you can exit out of handbrake and then continue ripping the same DVD again from where you left off at a later date.

I know there is currently a feature that allows you to pause the ripping of a DVD, but if you exit, the content ripped is lost.

I'm surprised that this feature hasn't been asked for before, considering how long it takes to rip a feature length film in H.264 with a decent bitrate (i'm using 3k). It takes my G5 iMac a good 7 hours to rip a feature film, so at the moment i'm just ripping shorter stuff like TV episodes. I know I could just leave my iMac running 24 hrs a day ripping all my films, but I'm not a fan of wasting electricity and shortening the life of my iMac.

Forgive my ignorance if this is a crazy feature to be asking for, as i'm thinking it might be because it seems like a very useful feature that most people would benefit from and probably would have been implemented already if it were easy/possible.

Thanks for reading.

Not easy at all. Not even sure it'd be possible.

Ah, fair enough then. I was wondering why such a potentially useful feature had not been implemented or even mentioned on this forum. Having some knowledge on the way digital video is encrypted, I'm sure it would be possible (most things are possible some way or another), but it's probably more hassle to develop and get working than it's worth. Ah well, I guess if you've ran out of other features to develop and feel like taking on a beast of a challenge, this is probably something useful which I think would be widely sought after.

Well done with creating such a brilliant app though, keep up the good work
