With upcoming changes to data protection and privacy laws in Europe coming into effect soon, we thought this would be a good time to remind everyone that we do have a privacy policy.
This applies to all users and visitors world-wide.

We have made a few changes to the language to make it clearer in relation to this new regulation but fundamentally, the terms and your rights are unchanged.

Playstation Presets

Post by RangaBear » Sat Jul 08, 2017 1:32 pm

Please describe what you would like to see added to HandBrake:
The ability to have presets defined correctly and added as NOT editable.
eg. ‘Playstation 1080p30 Surround’ Needs to be more defined as ‘Playstation 3 1080p30 Surround’ or ‘Playstation 4 1080p30 Surround’

Why would you like to see this added:
If using ‘Playstation 1080p30 Surround’ & select to use H.265 instead of H.264, inside and mp4 conatiner, the video is corrupted and cannot be played on a PS3. I believe this is because PS3, is not capable of playing the H.265 file.

What version of HandBrake are you currently running:
1.0.7 (2017040900) 64 Bit

What operating system and version and you currently running (e.g. OSX 10.11, Windows 7, Ubuntu 14):
Windows 8.1 Pro 64 Bit

If you alter settings, you are no longer using a preset. So if you use incompatible settings, it won't work.

Keeping track of all the compatible settings for each device isn't something that's practical to do.

None of the built-in presets are user editable. If you want changes, you have to save as a new preset.
