Add a "Run Job Now" command, bypassing the existing queue

Post by hbUser3000 »

Please describe what you would like to see added to HandBrake:
Add a "Run Now" button (with a "Play" icon) next to the Output Settings controls. This would essentially create and run only a new job, whose parameters are as set in the GUI. The existing queue contents is ignored. (If the queue has been Started already, this option would not be available.) Might as well be able to Stop this immediate job - the button would toggle between these 2 states? This means the existing "Start Queue" button and this new "Run Now" button are mutually exclusive.

Why would you like to see this added:
Many times I want to preview an encoding job, but when the queue already has items in it this is impossible - pressing Start simply starts the existing queue. Having to preview all my jobs (e.g. to verify correct audio track, set custom start time), then go back and schedule them, is a pain, and it's easy to set wrong job parameters 2nd time around.

What version of HandBrake are you currently running:
Was using 10.5 release, now using latest nightly build 2016060501.

What operating system and version and you currently running (e.g. OSX 10.11, Windows 7, Ubuntu 14):
Windows 10 64-bit.

P.S. Just noticed - changes to the Output File's Default Path are ignored - you have to restart the application to pick up the new value.
