Requests from a newbie.

Post by krreagan »

I'm new to DVD ripping and am confused by a lot of the options...

With this in mind, I would like to see a couple of options for amatures llike myself:

1) Buttons to select "good" default values for different targets (Apple TV Hi-Def, iPod, Quicktime...).

2) Either remember the destination folder between runs of the programs or have a setting in the Preferences.

3) An option to rip for iPod and Apple TV (Disk space is cheep :) ) at the same time.

4) A tie in to Wikipedia (or other location) for artwork and (iTunes)description.

This is a great product for forst release!
Keep up the good work.

2-Already in the works

3-If you rip for the iPod, it should work on the Apple TV, that's sot of a no brainer.

I figured an iPod rip would work with Apple TV, but I was not sure if the resolution would be optimal for a Hi-Def TV? ( ~2.5" screen vs 52" screen)?

TIA

No it won't be optimal, but you'd have to rip to the lowest specs, not the highest. The Apple TV is capable of higher resolutions than the iPod 5.5G. If you want it to play on both, you have to obey the lower rez the iPod needs.

On my local list of things that need to be added to the Trac.
4) A tie in to Wikipedia (or other location) for artwork and (iTunes)description.
