Just two (hopefully little) things

Now that I am getting the hang of Handbrake and the community here has been awesome I just have two things I'd like to see added if it is possible.

1. BD LPCM pass through
2. TrueHD pass through

I don't mind ripping down and then muxing the audio track but if these options where available this application would be EPIC! (and save an extra hour or so per rip)

DVDs can also have LPCM, so I would change 1 to LPCM passthrough.

I believe that TrueHD is on the list already.

24-bit FLAC encoding is easier and will probably arrive before LPCM passthrough, FWIW.

It's all good. Just wanted to get it out there, though I'm guessing I'm not the first to bring it up. Until it is ready I'll just keep muxing in the original audio track. Thanks.

Yeah, I think I know why passing through the TrueHD track hasn't been implemented by now.

Pretty obviously it's not a trivial matter (or it would have been done already) and I've now come across an instance where I just can't do it, even with my usual mixture of tools that have worked in the past (on this particular title I can rip the TrueHD track out just fine, but trying to remux it with the resultant Handbraked video results in audio delays that I can't overcome). Given that this is variable (that is, most of the time I have no problems but some of the time it's impossible) I'm of the suspicion we'll never see TrueHD passthrough in Handbrake (a real shame for those of us who like our HD audio).

Oh well, at least we have DTS-MA.

Re-encoding to 24-bit FLAC will be available fairly soon (Libav bump + however long it takes me to implement a new encoder). As for the technical issues preventing the implementation of TrueHD passthrough, they are not related to A/V sync.

Regarding your issue with 3rd-party tools, feel free to PM me about it, maybe I can help you make it work?

Did you make sure to select the MKV container?

Actually, FLAC does show up but not the 24bit version. This is on a Win7 machine. I have Ubuntu running on a VM and installed handbrake there and the 24bit one shows up there. This is running ver 0.9.9 on both.

0.9.9 did not support 24bit flac from the wingui. It was only added recently in the nightlies.
