Additional Audio/Subtitle track information

Hi,

it would be great if Handbrake would add information like "director's commentary" or "forced captions" as audio or subtitle track title. This would be very useful, because some dvds have very many subtitles (and i like to keep them all) and it's difficult to select the right one in the player if you have eg. 5 english tracks.

Another vote here for this feature.

I pass thru all the subtitles on my movies because they take up so little space. Its great that Handbrake passes thru the language tag but its really hard to recognise the track post encoding e.g. which are closed captions, directors commentary, for hearing impaired etc...

Generally I re-tag the tracks by hand using Subler but it would be great if Handbrake grabbed the info from the VOBSub e.g. "Directors Commentary Subtitles [VOB]"

Please clarify. We do find that info and expose it in the UI. What is it exactly that you want and HandBrake doesn't do? Setting the track name automatically?

Hi Rodeo,

Agreed its exposed in the UI (which is cool), the feature request is to write that info as a track attribute/atom/other in the destination media. The same way as you read the tracks language from the source media and write it to the destination media track for audio/subtitles.

OK. This is being considered (i.e. we're looking into improving auto-naming of output tracks), but not very high on our priority list, AFAICT.

Auto-naming would be good but (for me at least) the ideal would be to also send that information through as an additional attribute on the track e.g.
Track 3
- Type: AC3
- Language: English
- Comment: Directors Commentary
