Nice to have for "green" IT

Hi!

I'd like to propose a feture, a 5th option for "When all encodes are complete": Logout.
I'm encoding VDR recordings on a Ubuntu System. Shutdown is not an option for me, because some recordings may still run. The VDR would shut down the PC as soon as all recordings are done, but only, when no user is logged on (vdr-addon-lifeguard plugin).
I'm not very familiar with the internas of Linux, but when this is not too much work, I would really appreciate this feature.

Kind regards and thanks for this great program
Freddy.

Is there much of a difference between sleep and a log out? Would the currently implemented sleep lock the screen and all but log one out? What is the advantage of one being logged out as opposed to the computer being put to sleep (hoping that sleep mode is supported on your hardware)?

Perhaps you should re-read the original post?
