Hello,
Now I am not sure if this has already been posted up before is it has my apologies I did look at the other posts and didn't see anything on ALS (only on High Profile which is coming soon can't wait lol).
I was doing some reading, and came across information on a profile called ALS H.264, which is Lossless encoding! Any chance we could see this in Handbrake anytime soon? I am a huge fan of keeping quality! Thus, why I am thrilled to see you are adding High profile soon and also already added CRF (constant quality). Anyways I am not sure if there is an "open source" version of this but I was just curious to see your feedback on this profile and if we can expect to see this in a future version of Handbrake!!!
By the way I am also pleased to see you are going to add 3-pass encoding sometime in the future also can't wait for that lol.
Thanks for your time,
Any Chance for H.264 (ALS) Lossless Encoding Profile

HandBrake already supports lossless x264. Just set constant quality to 100%. Useless with compressed sources, though.
Also already supports high profile.
3-pass is so pointless, I don't know why you're excited about that. It's not going to noticeably improve quality over 2 passes. It's only to adhere even more closely to the average bitrate target.
