In the change logs of Libav12 beta1 released 2016 October 02, line 28 reads :
" Automatically rotate videos based on metadata in avconv "

Hi, one year later mduell,
Thanks to libav12 avconv, HB could handle the Auto-Rotate function. This feature will help e-Phone owners get crisper pictures by placing the taking lens at the bottom right, no longer at the top left corner of their machine.
(1) the vertical pressure on the [+] button generates much less blur than the click on the screen virtual button which induces an angular movement, (2) as a side benefit, no fleeting fingers will randomly obscure the picts' top-left side ;-)
