Loosing audio tracks when adding multiple jobs to queue

Posted: Sun Jul 29, 2018 3:06 pm

Description of problem or question:
I want to encode several similar files at once with the same settings. I use a folder as source, the desired output is a bunch of mkv files with the video content (based on Matroska preset H.264 1080p) AND two audio tracks (German and English, both AAC 394 kbps, 5.1 channels, e.g.) After adding everything to the queue only one audio track is listed in the queue for every job.

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):
  • - Select a source folder.
  • - Select Matroska H.264 1080p preset.
  • - Go to to Audio tab and make adjustments to create two audio tracks in two languages.
  • - Go to Queue - Add multiple and select all files
  • - Check queue: all jobs only have one audio track (the first one) even if both are still shown when closing the queue display.

You need to set the audio settings you want in the audio defaults, save it in a preset, then use that preset for your batch. Otherwise you're just editing the audio settings for a single encode.

If that doesn't work, you have to post the activity log for us to give any real help.

Hi mduell,

thank you for your answer, but I do not see why the activity log might be of help. I inserted into my first post nonetheless.

In my case no second audio track is present in the job list. It is even missing as soon as I save my own preset. Just try it out for yourself, are you able to save a preset with two audio tracks?

The Audio tab Selection Behavior is what is saved in the preset, not what you see in the list.

There's the audio list, and then there's another (sub)window where you select track selection behavior. Not sure how the GTK interface is set up exactly, but there's usually a button to show the latter, possibly labeled "Configure defaults" or something similar.

Label was changed to Selection Behavior for 1.1.0 and beyond.
