M4v vs mp4?

Post by KDM »

Newbie here... my HB offers output only in M4v format, not MP4. I gather these are basically but not entirely identical. Is this true? Is there a reason MP4 is not offered?

They are identical files. Just the filename is different. Feel free to just change the filename to mp4 but it usually makes no odds unless your on an apple device, in which case it's mandatory to use m4v for certain features to work in the player.
