Post by simonbcn »

Hi,
The official Ubuntu PPA is outdated (https://launchpad.net/~stebbins/+archiv ... e-releases), the last ubuntu version is Raring. And Saucy?
Regards.

That's because all new attempts to upload builds for raring result in launchpad returning the error:

Code: Select all

Rejected:
raring is obsolete and will not accept new uploads.
I don't know if this is a deliberate decision by lauchpad, or just an error on their part. But the last 3 or 4 build attempts have resulted in this error.

I think it is probably an error on their part since they are still producing builds for quantal.

If you don't mind using nightly builds/snapshots you also could use this PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~stebbins/+archiv ... -snapshots

Hmm, I assumed that since he was asking about raring, he meant the snapshots PPA. I didn't read closely enough. The releases PPA is indeed up to date for raring.

The release PPA will not be updated for saucy until we do our next official HandBrake release. So Saucy users should use the snapshots PPA.

I'm on Precise and I'm having the same problem, I can add the PPA (for either -releases or -snapshots) but when I try to install I get this error:
Package handbrake is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package 'handbrake' has no installation candidate
