HB crashes when opening a MP4 created with Flash Video Downloader, a Chrome extension

Post by JFDerzi »

Please describe the problem in as much detail as possible:
The title says it all.
HandBrake crashes when opening a file downloaded from the net using Flash Video Downloader, a Chrome extension.
To cause the error, just click File Open and select the file. Next thing you will see is the message "Handbrake has stopped working".
There is no error code or BSOD.

What are the steps to reproduce this problem:
Just click on File Open and select the file.
They are .MP4, I do not believe that Chrome extension save files in other format.

What version of HandBrake you are running:
HB version 1.0.3

What operating system and version and you running (e.g. OSX 10.11, Windows 7, Ubuntu 14):
Windows 7 Professional, SP1 - fully updated
AV - Kaspersky

Where did you download HandBrake from? handbrake.fr or somewhere else?
HandBrake.fr

If there was any error, exception or crash report displayed, please copy it and paste it here:

Are there any entries in the Windows Event Viewer for when this happens? If so, can you post them, too?
