DD 5.1 and DTS 5.1 conflict with MKV files

Please describe the problem in as much detail as possible:
I'm ripping my DVDs to MKV, using MakeMKV. Then to MP4, using Handbrake. Some DVDs have two (2) 5.1 audio tracks...

When I set audio for passthru ... Dolby 5.1-->AC3 passthru; DTS 5.1-->DTS Passthru ... the resulting MP4 file refuses to play either track via flash drive or portable HD, on my TV or through the Sony BluRay player. The Dolby track is silent, and the DTS file doesn't even show as an option. (They DO appear on VLC.)

However, if I do DD5.1-->AC3 passthru...
And DTS-->AAC (1536)...
Then both tracks play fine.

What are the steps to reproduce this problem:
See above

Not a mystery -- please include the required encode log, also the media players you use, and the answer likely is waiting for you ...
