VP9 CP bar

Post by K@mpfH@mster »

Hi, just downloaded the new nightly and tested VP9 Encoding. The constant quality bar moves, but the NUMBERS don't.
I used 2pass encoding for testing, so I cant say ifit is only a GUI problem.

Anyway, VP9 rocks x264 away.

Indeed, this happens in the GUI for Haiku. It seems it works fine under BeOS and OS/2, however…

I know it's not your first post, but it would still be nicer for us if you could actually provide some information (like Windows, Mac or Linux) so we don't have to lookup all your previous posts to find out which GUI may have an issue.

VP9 CP bar

Post by K@mpfH@mster »

Hi, just downloaded the "fixed" version, but it is still not fixed. The bar is moving now and shows different numbers, but the quality of the output is always the same (and terrible).

I am using Windows (10) GUI.

Check the filesize. For 1 test source i used, I saw very little different in output quality, but substantial difference in file size which suggests it is indeed working. Quality wasn't x265 good but was pretty damn close.

I also enabled the preset slider for VP8 and 9 just now. Might help tune things.

Hi, I tested the latest nightly and with this it seem to work. I will retest it, but the quality is much better.
