[Fixed] 1cac193 x86 64 Win GUI, forced burn-in subtitles don't clear in time
Problem: Creating mkvs from BD material using foreign audio scan with forced and burn-in flag.
The forced subtitles are burned in but unfortunately while playing the video the items are displayed continuously till the next subtitle item.
HandBrake-1cac193_x86_64-Win_GUI
Windows 10 Home, 64-bit
Encoding log: http://pastebin.com/BwSJdK6A
Will retry with 2eef744 which is the next before last nightly I have and was working fine since weeks.
Thx for this excellent tool and thx in advance,

Re: 1cac193 x86 64 Win GUI, forced burn-in subtitles are displayed permanently
Thanks for the report. I have a pretty good idea what the problem is. I'll update this thread when a solution has been committed.
Re: 1cac193 x86 64 Win GUI, forced burn-in subtitles are displayed permanently
Thx a lot for your work!
I meanwhile can confirm that the issue is not present with the nightly 2eef744 from 2016-01-20.

Yeah, I overhauled how A/V and subtitle synchronization works, and I broke some subtitle stuff in the process. A fix is under construction.

I had a good laugh when reading this… if you only check the title, it's not immediately obvious that it's not a non-issue

Should be fixed in the next nightly build https://git.io/vz9Vv

Sorry, as you can see English is not my native language. I understand what you mean by that.Rodeo wrote:I had a good laugh when reading this… if you only check the title, it's not immediately obvious that it's not a non-issue
Replaced permanently by non-stop, any helpful suggestions are welcome.

Don't worry, once you read the first post it becomes clear. It's just the original topic title that's funny
Re: [fixed]1cac193 x86 64 Win GUI, forced burn-in subtitles are displayed non-stop
Tested with nightly 09afa66 dated 2016-01-28 and burned-in subtitles are displayed correctly.

I'd say "continuously", fwiw.JimKnopf wrote:Sorry, as you can see English is not my native language. I understand what you mean by that.

I would have described it as "subtitles don't clear in time"

@Motorsport: I removed the fixed tag from this thread but the link to your thread is not helpful, since you show a 10.3 log there.
Please, provide an actual 09afa66 log from an encoding the problem is still visible.

Re: 1cac193 x86 64 Win GUI, forced burn-in subtitles don't clear in time
His issue is not related to this. He's on a different code stream.
Re: [Fixed] 1cac193 x86 64 Win GUI, forced burn-in subtitles don't clear in time
Indeed, meanwhile retested 09afa66 with several BD materials in ultrafast mode and forced burned-in subtitles: Works like a champ -> Fixed.
Re: [Fixed] 1cac193 x86 64 Win GUI, forced burn-in subtitles don't clear in time
Can you confirm what the issue was here? Why did this occur?
I have noticed this problem in a previous encode some time ago on an older version but did not look into it any more.

I retest with HandBrake-4a69d98_x86_64-Win_GUI.
Just change my setting for subtitle in burn-in and it works fine but I don't work in the same build in default!!!!

Re: [Fixed] 1cac193 x86 64 Win GUI, forced burn-in subtitles don't clear in time
@Motorsport: Upon your feedback I retested some BD examples using using foreign audio scan with/without forced and no burn-in flag.
All is working as expected, here.
May I ask you to open a new thread since it must be another issue or seems to depend on different circumstances in your case.
Please, describe as detailed as possible what you're doing, your environment and provide a scanning and an encoding log.
Thx for your understanding. Will leave the prefix [Fixed] for this issue in this thread. Keep my fingers crossed for you.

ok create a new threat for my problem
Re: [Fixed] 1cac193 x86 64 Win GUI, forced burn-in subtitles don't clear in time
As a semi-related issues, I've noticed that from 10.3 and up into the nightlies, source subtitles are being burned in even if no subs are added via the subtitles tab.

I doubt that this is really the case as lots of people would notice.dark4181 wrote:As a semi-related issues, I've noticed that from 10.3 and up into the nightlies, source subtitles are being burned in even if no subs are added via the subtitles tab.
If you are having issues with HB you should post in one of the support forums.

Sorry to ask again but what did the problem turn out to be?Rodeo wrote:...
I am curious as I noticed this on an old encode and was always curious.
