Won't rip entire DVD

Post by cindy2477 »

I just downloaded this today. I've tried it on two different pcs. I will only rip the first 6 minutes of a disc that is about a 1 hour and a half long and then it says complete. Does anyone know why this is happening.

What did you use to rip the source? HandBrake isn't a ripper.

Try reading the very first line of the Windows GUI Guide for HandBrake.

The dvd is copy protected

Code: Select all

....
libdvdread: Encrypted DVD support unavailable.
libdvdread: Could not open input: No such file or directory
libdvdread: Can't open E:\ for reading
libdvdread: Device E:\ inaccessible, CSS authentication not available.
...
So you have to rip it before converting...

if i am allowed to mention another utility here(If Not I apologize), Slysoft's Anydvd, or Anydvd-hd utility while using any version of handbrake would remove any CSS copy protection from any dvd, even if done accidentally to a home-made dvd, allowing handbrake to rip the OP's dvd.

I'm finding same issue and handbrake reports it copy protected by AnyDVD says it has removed it. Been working fine for over a year before this.

If anydvd says it is removed, & handbrake says its still protected, The next option would be to either use anydvd's disc to hd transfer, or to use the old favourite DVD decryptor(old i know) as anydvd works along side it(anydvd/anydvd-hd + dvd decryptor will take away further protection allowing the disc to be extracted successfully in folder form)...then try the folder option in handbrake(choose the folder your disc was extracted to), instead of accessing the disc in handbrake.

If it still doesn't work, then I would say its faulty media, or its a dvd that anydvd cannot remove protection from...yet, unless the dvd media involved is reported on slysoft's forum...

True story. AnyDVD removes some things in passthrough, but not all.

Use a ripper like MakeMKV and then feed that file to HB.
