[SVN 2845] Encode causing AppleTV to Reboot

[omni]

Encoded it once with Universal with modified settings (detelecine and deinterlace turned on, along with subtitles) and it crashed the AppleTV. Just tried encoding it with AppleTV preset with same modifications. Same result.

Note: With the second attempt, I just encoded the first 2 chapters. This is the 2nd episode of Bones Season 4 - disc 1. Episode 1 and 3 have had no problems so far (haven't watched episode 4 yet, going to do that tonight). I'll probably try encoding it one last time with just vanilla appletv preset and see what happens.

I think there is/was a known issue with soft subtitles causing issues with QuickTime and appletv playback. What I'm not sure about is if it has been resolved yet or not -- I know there were some patches to address it, but I'm not sure if they were checked in to svn yet.

EDIT: reading some other posts, it appears that a patch was submitted that fixed the issue for at least the few people who tested it.

Ahh ok. I remember seeing a thread about it having problems with Quicktime, but didn't know it was happening with AppleTV also.

The latest round of soft sub fixes was committed as revisions 2846 and 2847 - just after the snapshot was released. They'll be in the next snapshot.
