Hey all,

I've got a lot of DVD's sitting around the house that I would love dearly to watch on my Creative Zen Vision M (30 GB). I have Windows XP, and after reading different guides and FAQ's I'm still deeply confused about the process. I understand the end result is a DVD -> MPEG4 but I have no idea how to get along to that goal. How do I get started? Any help would gladly be appreciated.

I convert them to Mp4's and my player will convert them to wmv's. however recently when I try to open the file it says not a movie file.

Files are corrupted in that case. Either not let the encode finish properly or there is another issue.

Handbrake doesnt support wmv which i assume is what your Creative Zen Vision M uses. Converting it twice seems daft so you may want to look for a different application to do your encoding.

SUPER might work for you, but it's a little confusing.

Thanks anyways, I've gotten 3/5 dvd's onto my zen without a problem and they look great!

But sometimes I will run into that problem. I'll try out super as well, only if handbrake can't handle it. Thanks muchos

When trying to encode a DVD, the cmd prompt box closes after .01%

Distorted video usually means the resolution you selected is incorrect.

Encoding failing can be literally hundreds of things. Weird copy protection, maybe something system side.

What program are you using to decrypt the DVD's?

Stalls will usually be caused by malformed dvd data. - again something to look at the dvd decyrption software.

Google "AnyDVD" There is a 21 free trial.

Its very good and regularly updated unlike DVD43 which is quite poor are removing many protections.

You can try ripit4me or dvdShrink
Both are free, dont let anyone or any site tell you dvdshrink is now free. theres alot of scams around. Just be warned.

There nowhere near as good as anydvd but they tend to work against many more protections that DVD 43 does not.
