Can't get video into iTunes

*Novice Here*

Just ran handbrake for the first time, but I can't get the video into iTunes. The file it created is an avi file, and windows tells me the audio format is MP3. This doesn't seem right. And yes, when I ran handbrake I left the encoder settings as H.264 and AAC.

Do I need to try some other encoder settings? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

When you browse for the destination, in the little drop down menu under the file name save box, there is a drop down menu. Select MP4.
