How to disable tags and global tags?

Post by Linakesh »

Description of problem or question:
Handbrake adds tags and global tags to every single .mkv file it creates. How to disable this useless feature?

Steps to reproduce the problem (If Applicable):
Every .mkv Handbrake creates has a bunch of unwanted and unneeded tags.

HandBrake version (e.g., 1.0.0):
Every version of Handbrake does this.

Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, macOS 10.13 High Sierra, Windows 10 Creators Update):
Windows 10 latest.

HandBrake Activity Log ***required*** (see How-to get an activity log)

Code: Select all

Please replace this text with the contents of your log file between the two code tags - OR - provide a pastebin URL in place of these 3 lines.
If you are unable to do so, please state why so we can help you.

Wow... I think this is the first time I've read a message where metadata OVERLOAD the problem... Most people want MORE.

Which tags are you considering "unneeded and useless"? The library that writes the MKV files has certain metadata tags hard-coded that are required to be in MKV files, and others that are commonly used by players.
