First time handbrake user

hi im new at handbrake and have no idea what im doing. i tryed getting a dvd on my ipod and it didn't work ( i got it on my itunes tho)

im using a windows xp with a computer im not too sure what kind of computer it is (lets just say its like a no-name computer lol) i got dvd43 and i got an ipod classic 80gb
so if someone could give me step by step instructions on how to properly work handbrake to get DVD's on my ipod that would be great

i don't remember im new i just put in a dvd and tryed and yeah pretty much my first time what settings should i use?

Well, I would start with the iPod Low-Rez preset.

Have you even downloaded the app and looked at it? It's pretty easy to figure out and you can't be that stupid. Have you read ANY of the documentation on the main site?

Are you on a Mac or a PC?

Well, since I'm not on a PC, I don't know specifics about the PC version.

thanks alot this really helped me and if you were really wondering yes im stupid lol thanks man ... also how long does it take to encode a movie about 90mins long on low-rez presets

That will depend entirely on the hardware specs specs of your computer. I would say roughly anywhere from 90 min to 24 hours. If you give me the details of your machine, I may be able to tell you more.

my computer is a no-name computer and i don't the details of it . but thanks alot for the help :)
